I'm not totally sure what they hoped to accomplish by rioting and looting in Portland, of all places. Possibilities:

• They were actually for Trump, and didn't like that the city went for Hillary.
• They were really pissed at the three people in Portland who voted for Trump, even though it made no difference.
• They were under the impression that the Electoral College works even more bizarrely than it actually does.
• They were planted by Trump's campaign to make Portland progressives look like even bigger d-bags than they already do.
• They wanted some free iPhones.
