So I am moving to northern Chicago from Fermilab and so need to pay for my own internet/etc. How do the Chicago land polytubbies get internet?

If speed is you concern, Comcast is the only option.
If you're not in Chicago Proper RCN may not be an option.

Yeah, it's a Comcast world in the northern suburbs. Overpriced, but quite reliable and quite zippy - especially if you have a fast modem.
The good news is, you can get a good deal as a new subscriber.
