Is there any hope for poppers?

Can't have jalapeño poppers without jalapeños.
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

      Print media is doomed.

Time for a more elaborate responce.

              **** USA

And, as always, to the point:

it's true that the sanctions might be hurting finland more and it's true that the americans are a homicidal bunch.

Now, take these two things together and it's clear that finland should do what it always has done.

              Finlindization.

I was talking to a fin a long time ago (when things were tense with turkey - now not so much it's a farting competition) and he laughed and said hahaha that's nothing we have the beast next to us.

              Might be true.

However, through neutrality finland was able to carve a future for itself in a way that the baltics have completely compromised.

holding them as hostages is why Russia can go into Syria and support assad (better than the US supporting whoever)

Also, merkel is not an enemy of putin.

You're way deluded if you think that.

Energy policy (read the papers) is swell between the two countries.

Also gemrnay doesn't have an army.

noone has an army in europe except the UK france greece and turkey (not in europe)

so they can make jokes and that's it

About a couple more things raised by Pekka:

                        The european army.
Yep, no chance in hell it's happening.
It was bleak chance in the best of times, now that the whole bordello is shaking and has proved to what extend its democratic inneficiency left in the hands of the markets can go, there's no chance in hell.

Sorry the finnish PM got dissapointed, I think the greek elite also wanted it, but it just ain;t happening and we all know why.

About the detterence of the UK:
that left me a bit confused, I always considered it as a major part of the problem.
But I see you said it as against russia so I guess it makes sense for you

About the EU dying slowly but surely

                        I'm conflicted about that.

On one hand I'd consider it as an inevitability if left in the hands of the markets.

OTOH I'm fully aware of the shortcomings of the greek state and I can't say with a straight face that only the EU or germany is to blame.

I suppose if the greek state ogt a bit serious it could compete in this environment, IF it is among likewised minded friends.

germans fight against the trade agreeemnet with the US have annuled the canadian one (like that ever mattered)

                        So... there's a small chance.

I'm not ready to completely discard the EU just yet

Not sure which ones were directed at me but I am not saying Merkel and Putin are enemis or friends. Saying that Putin is of not big concern, nor is Russia. I'd see a bigger problem in the EU or if names needs pointing out, then Merkel. Not as a proxy or covillain. The statement had no other implications. It only meant that if our small country looks at issues, Putin is not at the top of the list, as it is sometimes made out to be.

The normal folk are paranoid about Russia and Putin and are turning a blind eye to EU as an actor in the whole mess of rising tensions. The overall message was that no one in here is actually prepping for WWIII or the end of times. Within the context of is there any hope for preppers, as these videos gets released with no basis on what is actually going on.

I have said so since day one, so how exactly is that progress?

Now if I call you a w@nker for spweing racist insults like lazy greeks etc like the nazis did for jews for example, that's progress too.

                              We shouldn't be monodimensional.

Also if someone thinks that we would sell our kidneys because of these problems... he's naive.
Or that this is the only thing out there.

                                That's true.
As putin sometimes talks about the "outside" threat for internal consumption so do everyone else.

Hell Latvia was virtually crushed, and did so willingly only because of the "fear" of the big bad wolf.
                                Sad.
