Don't hold referendums on anything serious. Use them to name new bridges or schools, with limited choices.

“It is no use trying to 'see through' first principles. If you see through everything, then everything is transparent. But a wholly transparent world is an invisible world. To 'see through' all things is the same as not to see.”

A row over the renaming of an elementary school in Austin, Texas, has led to members of the public submitting a number of parodic suggestions for what the institution should be known as in future.

Also, the former president campaigned against the agreement. ****ing opportunist that he is.

Well it's historically clear that in, particularly latin america but also worldwide, the US has supported fascists/non democrats/ corrupted elites against the people in order to put them/keep the latter to power and plunder their countries resources, alongside them.

I'd not be surprised if this is the case in colombia.

The word fascist kinda loses meaning when you apply it to anyone and everyone.

Are you saying none of those South American governments were basically fascist?

He's calling the Columbian government fascist, by admission without knowing whether they are fascist or not. That is his shtick... he calls everyone in anyway associated with the US fascist regardless of who they are.
