I'm not a young man anymore, you know, though I look around your age -about 40, yes?- the backs of hands -and front of necks in skinny people- are the best tells that someone's getting on, even when they're aging well or have bought better skin at the doctor's. Even Linda Carter has veiny hands and some turkey neck, though she appears to be immortal like Wonder Woman in her late sixties and looking almost as good.

I kept rabbits for a few years as a kid - there's a lot of fine scars from that on the backs of my hands. They get claws that laugh at cats for sharp when they don't get out of the hutch enough to wear them down dull. -There's also lingering faint scars from warts burned off 47 years ago...

So I'd like to claim it was just dirty hands and unflattering light, but my hands are that pink -no peeling or anything like that, though- I'm no hand model. [shrugs]

I done bragged about my youthful appearance -and I agree that you don't look 40- and have been known to assert that I ain't too bad-looking for an old nerd sporting the Comic Book Guy look, but even though my hands ain't pretty enough fo' you, playah, they plenty strong enough. Serious question for AAHZ, since we done polluted. Elok's definitely a nerd and all that jazz, but I swear to you that the book is good. Now, I like you nearly as much as I like him, and wouldn't front, yo - it's a good steer if you like the kind of novel that has a map in the front and appendices in back - it's an interesting world, Corban. Any interest?

I always assumed it was AAHZ, as I couldn't think of anybody else who'd go to that level of effort to be obnoxious to me. It might also be somebody associated with the other book called "Curse of Life" on goodreads, annoyed that I used their title, but that seems less probable. As it's a relatively unknown book, I doubt it's a random stranger being a d-bag to another random stranger, seeing as the same guy hasn't rated any other books--who signs up for a troll account to troll a single unknown author? So my answer to that question is "somebody who is likely familiar with me personally, and who has seen The Fifth Element."
