      You are probably thinking of Aristarchos of Samos.

      Although geocentrism in the Middle Ages really caught on via Aristotle (and Ptolemy), heliocentrism was a valid theory in ancient times. I recall it being mentioned multiple times in ancient Greek philosophy and cosmogony in any case.
