Is there as much hectic running in ST:Beyond as in the first two "new" ST movies?

    I use to think that sort of thing.

    Then I realized that I had almost completely stopped watching movies, and wasn't missing anything.

    It also seems like there is less good SF/Fantasy books coming out, even though more are coming out. But maybe it is just harder to find the good ones,and maybe I just have mostly worked through the 60 year backlog that existed when I was born.

      On one hand I have watched the new Star Wars, and on the big screen too. But that was a big exception partially because of having a friend over for Christmas.

      On the other hand I only watched the new Road Warrior (??) in an airplane and I only feel like watching movies on airplanes 1 time out of 8 (so maybe 4 times a year?).

      There are so many movies and shows that would have been my thing but that I haven't touched.

          Watching movies in airplanes... If you're flying some American carrier, they charge you for the headset (like $10) and some more to simply watch the movie. You can't get even a freaking blanket without being charged. Even the meal is not provided anymore... Another ten bucks for crackers and cheesewiz. And you think I paid enough for the crappy seat and crappy customer service.

            Mars Attacks Galaxy Quest

            Road Warrior = Fury Road? then This is one of the few blockbuster movies that really impressed me recently (ok, "recently"). Many of those usual FX orgies tend to be boaring/predictable these days.

            As for ST - cool villain last time, but Khan should not be held back from doing more Sherlock stuff

                I have a friend with whom I can go see these movies.
                It's great because we went to see avatar 3D back in the day and it was awesome.

                But this cinematographic symbiosis has also led to me to almost having a brain aneurism (warcraft 3D)

                But I think star trek is safe

                    I almost solely fly international where even on American Airlines you are not treated in such a way.

                      Yeah, it was Fury Road, and it was pretty good.

                      Still didn't inspire me to watch more movies.

                              Also, Kirk didn't bed the hot alien chick. Not even a sexually repressed fight/spat between them. They did hold hands, but in a purely platonic/absurd physics sort of way. Feminists have ruined Star Trek

                                Actually saw the movie today, which was very good. I'm glad J.J. Abrams moved on to make unimaginative retreads in the Star Wars universe instead.
