        As for "punishing" the UK:

Their punishment will be, that they don't have access to the favorable EU deals anymore, as well es subventions and the like.

Do you (Dinner) really think they should still have access to them, after showing the EU a cold shoulder (and not contributing to the EU anymore, despite the fact that they had by far the most favorable membership conditions of all large EU countries)

They have made their choice. Now they have to face the consequences of that choice.

Let's hope some leadership will return to the EU after this but I have my doubts.

it will be interesting to see what happens. i suspect that after tempers have cooled, it won't be too hard to find a deal that works for everyone.

as for the OP, that sounds like a terrible idea.

                Not only
dinner thinks that his favorite uberrace can somehow intimidate.

If the art 50 is not started now, all negotiations in all corepers will with a 27 member state unison adopt all measures specifically designed to cripple the UK's economy.

Admit it -- you're just upset that the Brits stole the Greeks' glory.
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

your beloved free market canibals run the EU and that's why it's collapsing

let's indeed hope for the return of a major socialist leadership return so as to be saved

as a believer of the original eu project I consider the brexit a golden opportunity for far reaching reforms that will eventually get the EU back on track before it collapses completely, but I'm sure it won't happen just as the UK integrity will probably not be kept.

Luckily the brexit will provide a huge boost for podemos in the spain elections, so of course it's positive but I'm starting to think these are just minor steps

neverhteless, brexit was a huge slap in the face for the US (like dinner clearly expresses) and its freaky barbaric neoliberal agenda, and here's hoping there will be much more such incidents wether those are produced from integrational or segregational departures

Don't pretend that the UK is the only one who will pay consequences. This is a failure for all of Europe.

Conservatives approve of this. So maybe it's a slap in the face to your liberal friends.

The day after the vote the world lost 2.1 trillion dollars or about 3% of it's worth.
