Actually, that would be pretty ****ing awesome. It'd be sort of like SimCity, I guess, only the main challenge would be maintaining order and civilization among the population, with the building part being minimal? By the time your ship reaches its destination, you could have turned into a socialist collective, a hive mind, a theocracy, or just cannibal tribes fighting over sections of the ship.

I want an underworld game where you're in charge of an expedition to find a mythic passage to the overworld, and you're allowed to use a variety of routes and gameplay approaches to get there. Do you "shortcut" through goblin territory, doing the requisite hacking and slashing and gathering plundered wealth along the way, or run a merchant party through the more out-of-the-way but civilized dwarven region? How many fighting characters do you bring, as opposed to gifted foragers, scouts, thieves, traders or diplomats? Do you hire mercenaries, and if so, how do you keep them loyal? Etc.

If you can get Loin's attention, he might tell you about Sunless Sea.
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

I looked it up, and while I generally don't do steampunk it seems interesting.

I just downloaded some freeware app for android called Oregon Trail and it looked weird. I had a hard time even figuring out the UI.

It's not Forgotten Realms AFAIK; the Realms didn't do steampunk with a generous helping of Lovecraft, IIRC.

I'm only familiar with the Underdark via MrTemba's old Civ2 scenario (and wiki-ing to find out what all the stuff in it was supposed to mean), but certain parts of it have clear Lovecraftian influence--the Illithids, for example. Now, I found the Illithids incredibly boring, but then I didn't much care for my brief exposure to Lovecraft either.

The Glimmersea, sometimes called the Sea of the Starry Night, was a vast underground ocean lying in the Underdark of Toril.[1] The Glimmersea lay some 20 miles (32 kilometers) beneath the floor of another large body of water, the Sea of Fallen Stars in central Faerûn. It stretched out underneath most of the Sea of Fallen Stars, with the exception of the Easting Reach and other parts, and extending beneath some adjoining lands, including Altumbel and Aglarond.[1] The Glimmersea consisted of a lar

Illithids were in Greyhawk too -- part of the Slavers / Giants / Drow trilogy.

Oregon Trail, and others, are available as an App at Play Store on your phone.

Sunless Sea kicks ass. It's by the people who made Fallen London, an online browser game set in London after Lovecraftian Horrors have transported it a mile underground. Fallen London primarily takes place in London, Sunless Sea primarily takes place everywhere else that's a mile underground.

Unfortunately there's a lot of grinding involved, fortunately your save games are text files so you can just edit them to give yourself a trillion dollars or whatever which lets you focus on exploration instead of on grinding.

Here's an example of a Sunless Sea quest:
Your navigator has a strange tattoo and has lost some of his memories, so you decide to investigate the tattoo. It turns out that he's a cannibal, and the tattoo was supposed to help him to forget about his cannibal past but it's wearing off. You can resolve this issue by either a. dropping off your navigator at a location that will help him to come to terms with his cannibal past, or b. you can drop your navigator off at a location where he will be eaten by cannibals, or c. you and your navigator can eat your crew, thereby allowing your navigator to achieve apotheosis.
