    I should have also mentioned that without a strong Europe, China would have gained dominance in Asia sooner. The Chinese also have a myth about the turtle, that it's back props up the sky. The Iroquois and Chinese thus divide up the world, and then fight a great religious war to determine whether the turtle's back is holding up the earth or the sky ... so again, we see the turtle is playing the long game.

      I'm pretty sure the Iroquois and the Chinese couldn't have made contact without realizing the Earth is round...

        This leads to duotarian theology developing, where the turtle is both a turtle and two turtles, the two shells forming the sphere.
