    ... oops....forgot to nominate non-whites again.

There's nothing wrong with the dream, my friend, the problem lies with the dreamer.

Man, they are getting weirdly specific with these awards.

At this point it may be preferable to have race-specific awards - almost every year either people complain that not enough black people are winning awards / getting nominated or that too many black people are winning awards / getting nominated (IIRC when Halle Berry and Denzel Washington won it was "just because they were black ").

Better yet, just stop awarding Oscars altogether, who gives a ****.

Yep, who cares how a room full of rich people chooses to pat themselves on the back.
Put that energy into helping those that aren't rich and privileged.
(with the understanding that some of them are already doing it of course.)

Hey, the races are equal, but that doesn't mean they have equal aptitude at all tasks. Blacks are good at, you know, jumping and dancing and rapping. Whites, it would appear, are good at creating elaborate lies to make themselves feel better.

Who cares? It is supposed to be about quality of work not about racial set asides.

Since the nominations and the final voting is done by the Academy, this shouldn't be that surprising due to the racial makeup of the Academy.

If you look back at reviews of films and performances, some of the more glaring omissions are head-scratchers.

Consider the population of the Academy. It's not exactly MENSA.

Looking at Wiki's article of past BP winners and nominees. Have they already used up all their credit for giving it to Crash in 2005? I mean, Brokeback Mountain was nominated that year, and Crash won it instead; Hollywood therefore decided that they like worrying about whether or not they're racist even more than they like glamorized portraits of tawdry homosexual affairs. And they LOVE gay stuff out there!

Maybe they should change this and make MENSA-membership mandatory in order to be eligible to vote for the academy awards
