This seems more like a Gribbler thread. I better hurry and post my disdain for that popular thing before people forget I exist!

I find Jennifer Lawrence to be quite attractive.

I wouldn't call her ugly per se. She's like Kirsten Dunst; there's something odd about her facial structure that isn't always flattering, but she's never exactly ugly. Sometimes just not what you think of as movie-star beautiful. As for her acting skills, I plead unqualified to judge. I generally only notice bad acting if it's gone beyond bad into profoundly terrible, and with lousy dialogue to boot.

ah yes, the Hayden Christensen litmus.

Yep, one of the best litmus tests.

And for the record, I can't believe I didn't know she played her until pointed out in this thread. DOH

I personally felt the effect was more noticeable with Jake Llloyd, but we needn't argue. Pretty much all of them were terrible. The latter two prequels would have been vastly improved if they'd, without any explanation, had Christensen switch roles with Samuel L. Jackson. Then had them play it completely straight, and/or given Jackson free reign to extemporize with his dialogue, just like Ford did in the original trilogy. It would have substantially livened up dialogue like:

                  PADME: You've grown Ani.
ANAKIN: You too. Grown more beautiful, I mean.

It wouldn't even have been that great of a continuity break. While Jackson bears little resemblance to an older Jake Lloyd, he at least bears a superficial resemblance to a younger James Earl Jones, the Vader people care about. And Christensen would still have been electrocuted by the Emperor, which is the only Vader-y thing any of us ever wanted to see him do.

I'm not sure if the same plan would have saved Episode I.

I've heard reports that Hayden Christensen is decent in other, non-Star Wars movies. At this point, I think it's pretty clear that while the prequels could have had better actors for some roles, the real culprits were the awful writing, directing, and plot.

I have problem with calling "The Hunger Games" a trilogy.

Assuming characters and CG are a subset of writing/plot and directing respectively, sure, I can accept that.

That's Rebecca Romijn. Here's Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique.

Totally different boob shape. Their faces are probably different too, but I don't look at women's faces.

And Jennifer Lawrence turned in a great performance in "Winter's Bone".

As for the other issue? It's all subjective, but I certainly wouldn't kick her out of the bed for farting.

I'm glad someone posted both pictures. Now I know why I never realized that JL played her. I just remembered Rebecca
