I don't recall any problems being noted in Munich for Oktoberfest last year, even with 20,000 refugees reportedly at or near the railway station. The police were organised and prepared.

Uhm ... it was Silvester ... large gangs of drunk people are the norm rather than the exception during this time in major cities in germany
As well as are firecrackers flying around.
Having been in Düsseldorf myself (which is actually the largest city that is closest to cologne) with some friends during Silvester I can assure you that I wouldn´t want to be a policeman patrolling the old town during this time ... not much chance to divide celebrating (and drinking) people from those who commit crimes (or are victims of one) ... and lots of time for offenders to escape into the crowd (and I guess the crowd in Düsseldorf was less cluttered than the crowd in cologne)I drank beer. A crowd of about 1,000 men had gathered in the square outside the main railway station on New Year's Eve, letting off fireworks. Many were drunk and aggressive.
Police eventually evacuated the area because of the risk of injury from the fireworks.
But gangs of youths soon returned and carried out dozens of attacks over a number of hours with little apparent response from the local authorities until well after midnight.
Mr de Maiziere criticised police for allowing the attackers to return. The square was evacuated, he said, "and then later these events take place and they wait for complaints. The police shouldn't work like this".
So they were able to clear a crowd of 1000 of these men, even though they were 'aggressive.' Then these men came back in large groups and started assaulting women, but the police do nothing? Wow.I drank beer. I like beer. I still like beer. ... Do you like beer Senator?

I'm curious on why you're so hot about this. Yeah, the cops misjudged the situation and should have reacted differently. They'll probably review what happened and modify their strategies.
This is nothing compared to Chicago cops routinely gunning down blacks in the city. Which has led to city-wide protests.
The German police have a long way to go before they lower themselves to what's happening in the US.It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

Then you should work on proper communicating.
The focus on you last few posts was more on
but the police do nothing? Wow.
Now if you're claiming that they did nothing due to PC, that would be a different discussion. It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

your focus on the police's action vs. the media.

For those who aspire to live in a high cost, high tax, big government place, our nation and the world offers plenty of options. Vermont, Canada and Venezuela all offer you the opportunity to live in the socialist, big government paradise you long for. –Senator Rubio

Also, that bull**** with allowing war migrants in actually makes a real solution further away - namely, not creating these migrants in the first place. Besides, why EU takes migrants created by US wars? EU is what, US ****hole to take all sh1t that is created by US? US created migrants, US keeps them. EU should grow some balls already when dealing with migrants and USA alike. Instead EU lets everyone rape themselves, both literally and figuratively.
P.S. Why the hell filter blocks a word "sh1t"? Seriously?Last edited by Ellestar; January 7, 2016, 12:50.Knowledge is Power
