No. You hate black churches. You hate Christians. So does Wright. He calls them racists, according to the quote you posted.

      • “Take a baby born an African, as an African in the oven,” he said, using Malcolm X’s saying “just because a cat has kittens in the oven, that doesn’t make them biscuits” as a reference point for his riff.

“Take that baby him or her away from the African mother, away from the African community, away from the African experience … and put them Africans at the breasts of Yale, Harvard, University of Chicago, those trinity schools, UCLA or U.C. Berkley. Turn them into biscuits then they’ll get that alien DNA all up inside their brain and they will turn on their own people in defense of the ones who are keeping their own people under oppression.”

“There is white racist DNA running through the synapses of their under-brain tissue,” he continued.

“They will kill their own kind, defend the enemies of their kind or anyone who is perceived to be the enemy of the milky white way of life.”

        • I don't like political dynasties so I don't like Hillary or Jeb though I have to admit either would be less crazy than Trump or Cruz.

Actually this proves that Malcom X wasn't a racist

            • He's talking about "culture" blocks in a defined socioeconomic structure. It's all good

That could actually be "transposed" to the workers vs owners narrative (if workers had a colour and owners another)

              • Actually it does sound racist as all ethno-Nationalism is.

                • It would be racist if he said that he went to Yale and still remained dumb or something.
He sees no hinderance based on race, that's what's important.

It was cute you used ethno-nationalism , it's like saying nation nationalism

                  • Read more Malcolm X. He was very much an Afro-Centrist ethno-Nationalist. Very much like the white nationalist neo-Nazis but favoring black people.

                    • I just read that quote and it wasn't even from malcom X apparently but by that funky preist.

                      That was not racist

                      • I would honestly say white nationalists and black nationalists are just different flavors of the same ethno-nationalist way of thinking. Race is central to ethno-nationalism so it is an inherently racist ideology.

How could you transpose that narrative into a regular workers vs owners narrative. I know black liberation theologians are supposed to be influenced by Marxism, but never had that explained to me.

                          • There is a great article in the current issue of Atlantic magazine written by David Frum (the form Bush jr appointee and owner of Frum forum) discussing the class dynamics the Republican Party is currently being split by. I don't often agree with Frum but he nailed it this time.

Well I'm not an expert and I was talking about the fact that that priest was talking about "environmental" factors and not at all genetic. If the genetic component is missing in the equation then it's not racist (in the... pure form of that word).

About marxism/capitalism/race, I THINK, marxism says that capitalism can't exist without some sort of racism (or social racism maybe) because it will inevitably create wealth divergence a relation of the exploiting and the exploited and will inevitable create a "lower class".

Maybe black theologicians? (not that one though from what I read) simply made the connection and said that in some societies racism functions to define the lower class based on race?

A real marxist would probably grinch at my explanation

                              • There is definitely a racial component. The writer claims that black people who go to white universities become brainwashed and come out wanting to kill black people. That is a load of horse **** and it is certainly written by an ethno-nationalists ("true blacks can only go to black ethno-nationalists universities and anyone who doesn't is some how anti-black despite being black). It is racist nonsense.
