Yeah, I don't think there's any evidence our solar system has a lot of water. We just have a few ways of keeping water liquid.

        We are listening

“We either caught something shortly after an event like two planets crashing together or alien intelligence,” said Dr. Gerald Harp, senior scientist at the SETI Institute in Mountain View, California, referring to the baffling light variations seen by the Kepler Observatory in the star KIC 8462852 . And he and a team from the Institute … Continue reading "SETI Institute Undertakes Search for Alien Signal from Kepler Star KIC 8462852"

Down from Jan-Feb to about a month. My bet is 'Inconclusive, but we need to pay attention to this star.'

there is something about this star... but i'm betting its nothing sentinel. and after it's figured out... we'll find countless examples.

but still... like buying a lotto ticket... it;s fun to dream while anything is still possible..... before the drawing.

Maybe this is the one star that our star has always been looking for. The one that will make him complete.

                News from KIC 8462852

Between Friday and Monday, Tabbys Star has experienced a dramatic 3% dip in brightness again.
And if one scientist is correct, who assumes that it may be equivalent to another dip in the past (see 3rd link) then we may experience another even more dramatic dip within he next days

Tabbys star continues to be full of surprises

Maybe it's just a lazy star.

I know nothing about this, but it's obvious the dips in brightness are the result of a death star in orbit, which sometimes is blocking the starlight (similar to a solar ecplipse)

A death star, being no bigger than a "small moon," would not be large enough to cause the dips seen. Additionally, the dips are not exactly periodic and their light curves vary significantly between events (sometimes dipping sharply, other times more gradually). All in all, it's a pretty weird case. When this most recent dip happened, astronomers put the word out so that telescopes with spectrographs could look at the star. This should tell us something about the composition of whatever is causing the dips.

There is a new theory which actually explains all the observable evidence as a natural phenomena. One of it's planets crashed into the star. Yes, this does happen. I will find the link which explains the findings.
