  • How come armed robbery does not draw a death penalty?

Really? If you're going to walk into a store and point a gun at someone... is there really a reason to have you around? and make no mistake, I'm not ever going to accidentally rob a store with a gun. and neither will you unless that was the plan. think of the $$ saved. harsh, some people might say so. but until "those people" want to pay for the legal and housing fees... people like me will complain. one day... one day. there are almost too many of us now, one day.

Not if you define murder as lawless killing!

There's a Larry Niven short story (I forget its name) about a future society that hands out the death penalty for things like speeding tickets, the idea being that this way the law-abiding citizens can harvest the criminals' organs and live forever

Look, I'm totally against the death penalty. I just think it's possible for a country to come up with whatever crazy laws they want, and there's no way for us to argue some laws aren't real laws. You can argue that certain laws might break some sort of theoretical covenant with the people... but that just means you're living in maybe an "unjust" society, not one without laws.

What is legal is not necessairily ethical
Or what is just is not necessairily moral
Such questions were settled since 1789

And in Saudi Arabia they have the death penalty btw.
Is the US and Saudi Arabia legal?
                            No.
