Snowden's not a spy, he's a whistle blower. He deserves your thanks, not your contempt.

Discloses the governments' (plural) illegal invasion of our privacy (Edit: reminiscent of the KGB) knowing full well he'd probably never be able to enter his homeland again after escaping, for our - not his, our - benefit, and you have the gall to call him spineless?

Cue irrelevant navy story proving what a man you are.

There's ways he could have disclosed the domestic spying program without selling out legitimate activities to an enemy state for protection.

That's the thing, it wasn't just domestic. We in Australia were targeted, and our government complicit with yours. I'm pretty sure we weren't the only ones. It was an international revelation.

Edit: And if they're legitimate, what's the problem with disclosing them?

By the enemy I assume you mean Russia? Man, the Cold War really is back!

Spying on foreigners is a legitimate activity of the US intelligence community.

The only revelation to me would be if we weren't doing it. (of it our allies weren't doing it to us also)

The question of how we were doing it is what he sold to enemy states.

Allies "we are very disturbed that you are spying on us"

Snowden is a true son of liberal mind and protector of civil liberties. A free man in a land of fascists, one might say

He's also the reason the guardian got the pulitzer.
