Showing ID isn't a big deal. You must show ID to board a plane or cruise ship, purchase alcohol or cigarettes (probably marijuana too in Colorado), to pick up prescription drugs, to enter a military installation, to enter a federal courthouse, to rent a car, some hotels require an ID for check in, most jobs require either a photo ID or both social security card and birth certificate before they hire you, and I'm sure there are many other instances where you must show ID. I don't see why this is an issue and to me it's certainly not a civil rights issue.

First off I think the article is probably hyperbole, especially since some of their other headlines are "Trump's heartless response to shooting proves he's a sociopath" and "Bill O’Reilly Thinks The 2nd Amendment Is A License To Murder, So Accept It, America (VIDEO)." I trust this site about as much as I trust Dailykos, Politico, Drudge, Breitbart, Fox News, Red State, or any of the other obviously biased political sites. To believe them I would need to see a list of all current MS DMV offices with the announced closures and any others planned for the future. I'm sure there is some truth in the article, but how much, I'm not really sure.

Maybe they are closing offices due to budgetary reasons and are closing the least used offices. Maybe it is an evil racist conspiracy. I'm not sure. However, even if this an evil racist conspiracy to stop black people from voting, I'm sure it should fail. Maybe I'm stupid, maybe it's where I grew up in a rural area, but if you need something important like a drivers license you will find a way to get it. If I want to get a starbuck's coffee or go to target I have to drive an hour. If I really want to vote and have 13 months to get an ID, I think I could maybe devise a plan to get one.
