When the turks changed their script from arabic to latin in the 1900;s they gave up on what few hundernds years of history they had.
Now the average turk can't go back to his let's say country's files because they are in a script they can't udnerstand.
Greeks on the other hand kept their own alphabet for 3000 years. And never changed.
