    Is that Khrushchev?
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

It is, I suspect this is his visit to the US during the Kennedy administration where Khurzehchev threw a **** fit because they wouldn't let him go to Disneyland due to security concerns. If memory serves they had him watch the Can Can instead. Khurzehchev was supposedly a big fan of Disney cartoons and wanted to ride the rides, he claimed it was a diplomatic insult that the Americans wouldn't let him.

Wasn't he known as "The Hangman of the Ukraine" back in the good old collectiving days?
To The Hijack Police: I don't know what you are talking about. I didn't do it. I wasn't there. I don't even own a computer.

          Screw him.

Yes he was one of Stalin's most viscious henchmen. Then he turned on his master in 1956, after Stalin's death. Kruschev's own crimes were never mentioned, the Ukraine famine and purges were amongst the worst under Stalin. Kruschev, who was himself Ukrainian, carried them out. He also took the lead in forced collectivisation and purges in other places.

On the positive side Kruschev was the Commissar, Stalin's representative, at Stalingrad and worked closely with General Chuikov during that battle, probably his finest hour. But like Chuikov, he was absolutely ruthless. The number of Russian soldiers executed to maintain discipline at Stalingrad was staggering.

Keeping Khrushchev out of Disneyland was an epic misjudgement on Kennedy's part. It denied future generations photos of him partaking in the joys of capitalist escapism. Such photos might even have helped speed the fall of Communism.

                Pity.
