Oooh, last week, a guy stopped to pick up his son from primary school (with his wife next to him), and then did a u-turn to go back the way he came, in the process almost hitting a motorcycle that was coming, whose driver (also with his wife on th emotorcycle) proceeded to honk him, but then stopped at the traffic light.
The guy in the car, angry at being honked at for being reckless and stupid, got out of the car and proeeded to slap the motorcycle guy on the helmet. The guy ignored him. Not having manaed to anger him, the car guy got back into the car and accelerated into the motorcycle, throwing it to the ground (only minor injuries), losing his front licence plate, and then hurrying off through the red traffic light, almost hitting two kids crossing the street (upon which, my boss who was witnessing this and a lady waiting for the bus trew a mug and an umbrella, respectively, at him).
The police come, receive the testimony of the guy and several other witnesses (including my boss, and the parents of several kids from the school the offending party picked his son up from), and are about to leave when the really stupid guy from the car comes back on foot with two friends to 'pressure' the motorcycle guy. So he got taken to the police station and is being charged with attempted homicide.Indifference is BlissComment

If the folks designing the roads would think about the drivers and not about the $$$, there would be a lot less U-turners and that would make a nicer nation!
Edit add: Plus, GPS sucks! Telling you to turn way to soon in advance and your poor soul turns into a one lane road! Sheesh!Comment

There are no illegal u-turns here (at least not within 20 miles, Tagbilaran does have some posted that no one pays attention to) ...Comment

Around here, U-turns are illegal only where posted; whether a U-turn is actually sensible in any given location depends on the driver and vehicle in question...No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.Comment
