    I kind of love you for this thread. Back then most of us were so blinded by 9/11 that it was a rare person who spotted the dangers happening. Much respect.

    The irony is I didn't know it then but I've spent the best part of the last ten years up to my neck in the "long war" that has followed 9/11.

    My views haven't fundamentally changed.

      It's fascinating how much that one day changed peoples entire worldviews and what acts they were willing to support in response to it. Just a shame that people are still unable to empathize with how people in other countries that have faced mass violence might have also had their thinking changed in the same way.
