I think we should close all that stuff down.

Why should we believe an alien race is any better than us?

Since the dawn of time, humans with the bigger weapons have ALWAYS killed or enslaved those that are weaker than them - we should be hiding as best we can...

I see at least two potential problems if a bunch of star faring aliens turn up at Earth.

1. The are a peaceful race but see our tendencies to murder and enslave. They decide to wipe us out so we can never be in any position to enslave them.

2. They are similar to us in their tendencies to murder and enslave.

Anyway, they are sure to be clever enough to figure out that humans are very nice when they want something or are afraid. And then when humans have what they wanted to get "gratitude is the expectation of future favours, or else....".

I rather hope we don't meet any WTs.
