  • Almost forgot, in a more direct line, Kshama Sawant, Seattle City Council person, who was the person who proposed the city's $15 minimum wage law, which has seemingly been spreading around the country (LA just did and a few other places are headed that way) was actually in Occupy Wall Street.

Nothing is cleanly one or the other, but "social liberal" is a handy term to denote things that are not directly about money or labor (especially since "liberal" on those questions varies depending on what side of the pond you're on).
        The point in having a term like "social liberalism" is to claim that any opposition to laissez-faire capitalism is authoritarian.
