In this case would you like to explain later why you voted for a guy who promised to commit war crimes, if he then went on and committed those exact war crimes?

Also why in the name of **** would you want to vote for someone who says they want to commit war crimes in the first place?!

You first have to believe he'd do it. Don't get me wrong. The guy is a buffoon. But people are getting pissed off at lying politicians and have NO opportunities to protest them. Choose one from column A or one from column B. He's the protest candidate. (at first I figured that would Bernie but he's turning into a possible serious contender)

People are frustrated and Trump is an outcome of it. Supporting him is a protest for now. People hope he will shake things up in the grand ole party. But he remains unelectable so people figure it's safe to support him for now.

Heck, this same type of frustration of the status quo led to the election of a Republican governor in Illinois. A blue state elected a RICH guy who didn't hide the fact.
It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

That's what people thought about Rob Ford.

Well, now the Mexican government has spoken and their message is: Not so fast.

“Of course it’s false,” Eduardo Sanchez, a spokesperson for Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto told Bloomberg in an interview last night. “It reflects an enormous ignorance for what Mexico represents, and also the irresponsibility of the candidate who’s saying it.”

And Obama has either compromised or not done almost half the things he promised during his campaigning (depending on which truth site you look at)

Don't get me wrong, I don't want to defend him personally but believing that a politician will do everything he ever said is just plain silly.

And... he wants to commit war crimes.

Is there some special American way of saying 'war crimes' that I'm missing here? You know, war crimes, the things we hanged Nazis for in Nuremburg?

I still not seeing your point.

He's a clown that says stupid **** to get attention. Which no matter how much he denies there must be some calculating going on.
You normally seem to understand politics, so taking everything he says at face value seems at odds with that.

The guy currently leading in the polls for one of the two main American political parties announced publicly that if elected he would do the same thing as Imperial Japan did in WW2. He's still top of the polls. Does nothing about that strike you as odd?

If this tells me anything, its that the internet and cable news has desensitized America to the point where the world is quite possibly ****ed.

This is a country were a good portion of its population (to our everlasting shame when people look back at this period) heard about torture techniques being done by the government and shrugged.

(currently leading the polls) is the operative phrase.
I've heard quite a few people that say they'll vote for him that won't when it comes down to it.
It's like people lying in exit polls to screw with the establishment.

We're still over a year away from the election. Don't take it so seriously. (another reason why long elections seasons make absolutely no sense)

To put it another way: usually politicians lie about their plans to accomplish good but impractical plans, like so much money for this cause or making that solvent or fixing the problem over there. Trump's presumptive lie is to do something that could kill millions and smash the whole world economy. If that's his idea of an attractive lie, just WTF would he do if he were actually president?

better a clown with balls to say what he wants over Obama saying just enough and never really anything.

or Hillary - who refuses to say anything at all.

oh and kentonio - really, iran, the US would have a no fly zone over the WOHLE of iran in less than 3 days. and hey, it's pretty over at that point.
