Look at it like divorcing a wife that you couldn't live with, but are excellent friends after the smoke clears.

                Texas has had divorces.

First they revolted against the Spanish crown (as part of the Viceroyalty of Mexico).

Next they revolted against Mexico with that declaration of divorce on 2nd March 1836.

Next, shock and horror, they joined those ingrates that revolted against his Britannic Majesty.

Next, they rose up against the Ungrateful States of America and joined the Confederate States (also of America).

No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

                    Umh, History of Texans revolting.

                    Mexican indepence from Spain 1821

                    Texan independence form Mexico 1836

Left the Ungrateful States of America to join the Confederate States also of America 1861

Texas has never revolted against against the British Crown, the rightful monarchs of all the former American colonies

The French settlers in Texas were killed off by Native Americans... they weren't committing treason by any means

Just googled it. I did not know the French ever had any colony in Texas.

And, as Giblets mentioned, that colony was finished off by Native Americans.

One learns something new every day.

                            Thanks Slowy and Giblets.
