If the OP isn't comfortable using the word "******" in a thread about the word "******" then I can understand why other posters might not feel comfortable using the word "******" either

Sort of like if somebody started a thread about how it's not appropriate to use the word "******" (referring to homosexuals, not bundles of sticks) but danced around the word (I don't know how they'd do this, since "the f-word" means something else) then other posters might also refrain from using the word "******" even if they thought it was an appropriate context in which to do so

And technically, yeah, that is racist, but at the same time it's a pretty stupid piece of racism to complain about - 99.9% of the time that a white person says ****** it's intended to cause offense, so it's prudent for white people to be very circumspect about using the word ****** the remaining 0.1% of the time.
