Confederate flag worshippers who insist that they are not racist, and that the flag is not symbolic of white supremacy, seriously need to look at the company they are keeping.
Those who wish to get rid of the Confederate Flag may be hoping the Ku klux Klan will organise a few more rallies in support of displaying the Confederate flag. The rally seems sure to create a backlash against that flag.

    Or am I seriously mistaken?

    • No, I don't think you are.
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

      • I have German ancestry from both sides of my family.

Maybe the next time I visit an American World War II memorial site, I will show up with a Nazi flag. If anyone asks what I think I'm doing, I can just say, "Hey, I'm just celebrating my heritage."
A lot of Republicans are not racist, but a lot of racists are Republican.

            • Sandbags would be more in keeping.

                • Hessians used sandbags?

                  • Their (soldiers') clothes were eponymously made of Hessian fabric. Used for sandbags these days.

And so it came to pass...

Best of all is the tuba guy playing oompah music and a rendition of Ride of the Valkyries...

This heroic tuba player followed a KKK march and gave it the soundtrack it always needed.

                            Best quote:

On Saturday, July 18, a group of Ku Klux Klansmen and neo-Nazis (AKA Nazi poseurs) rallied at the South Carolina State House in support of the Confederate flag. Their message was that the flag is a symbol of heritage, not hate – although their position was undermined somewhat by the fact that they're a hate group.
So it's official: The Confederate flag IS a rallying symbol of hatred and racism for neo-Nazis and their affiliated hate groups - thanks KKK for making it so much easier to finally ban it once and for all...

                              • I've thought about it some more.

If someone wanted to, they could carry around and fly the Nazi flag at a World War II memorial, and just defend their action by saying that it's originally a Hindu symbol, so there's nothing wrong with it.
