Christians have a prohibition against meat sacrificed to Idols. The problem with this is that meat that's been used is most often not labeled or identified. I won't shop anywhere that sells it, fwiw, because I just don't trust the vendors.

Why aren't they allowed to handle sealed bottles of liquor or cartons of cigarettes? They aren't buying them, are they? Can I let my son steer a shopping cart that has a bottle in it? Bring the groceries inside?

I always assumed that it was so they couldn't buy booze for themselves or for their underaged (meaning under-21) friends

They make it sound like the under 21 prohibition is a Walmart thing when it is really a state law thing.

Not sure about (presumably Florida) state law, but it is Wal-Mart company policy that underage cashiers - even those named "Steve" - are not allowed to sell alcohol.

"We spoke to the Walmart store, and apparently employees under 21 years old are prohibited from selling cigarettes and alcohol," the story now reads.

The Wal-mart near where I live has an isle for Kosher foods. Before you can even shop, they make you recite Torah passages, and if you can't they shoot you. I've ever had this happen, but I'm sure it is true!!!
