Whenever you make a statement about something, then you are implying that the opposite is true for everything else. For example, "white males are scared of collective punishment" - this means that everybody who isn't a white male is in favor of collective punishment. Also, "the Pope is Catholic" - this means that everybody else in the world is not Catholic. They only teach this sort of logic to history majors, so I can understand your confusion.

My computer science master's degree is in artificial intelligence, so as part of the curriculum I learned a bunch of different logic systems (besides the standard Boolean logic that's used in computing), such as fuzzy logic, three-valued logic, four-valued logic, and stupid logic (such as that taught to history majors)

Why? Drink only lowers inhibition, it doesn't give people a different personality. In vino veritas.

SO you feel that Germany should not have been carved up into occupation zones at the end of WW2 and that Japan shouldn't have had the "no offensive war" clause put into its constitution by MacArthur? How do you feel about the current economic punishment of Russia?
Here's a fact that will warm your heart - America has never been punished for the way it crushed its native peoples, nay, it hasn't even been forced to recognize it as a systematic crime.

inhibition protects against saying stupid stuff, not that he said anything stupid or bigoted

There's no doubt he's angry at the system. It's very apparent from his posting lately, and perfectly understandable. I am myself angry at that system of discrimination.

The form the anger takes when being expressed is important though. This thread was in very poor form.

dont know about poor form, this is poly after all, but certainly illogical - much of our judicial system is based on collective punishment
