  • ib.adnxs.com is going to give me a seizure

Since I came back, I've noticed that sometimes (usually when I'm trying to type a response) a thread will go into some sort of perpetual-reload cycle thingy. It will say "waiting for ib.adnxs.com" in a little box in the lower-right corner. Or rather switch between that and two or three similar messages such as "transferring from ib.adnxs.com" very rapidly. Aside from the bandwidth burn I assume this is causing, it's extremely irritating and distracting when I'm trying to type. It's like a high-speed animated gif I can't stop. Hitting Stop on the browser does nothing, it auto-resumes the cycle.

Is there a way to shut that up?

Not something I've noticed. What's your relationship with ads on Apolyton?

None of them showed before thanks to robust Firefox plugins. Now there's three plugs for something called Adhexa at the bottom of the page, side-by-side. Big violet thingies. Dunno why.

I added those ads to the end of the page recently. Sounds like one of the ads that is chosen by their system to show to your geolocation is screwed up.

I've added you to a user group that ads won't be shown to.

I've experienced similar non-stop page reloading recently as well. Not 100% sure what is causing it but it sounds similar to what Elok describes.

Roger that. It has been bugging me.

But I just decided to tear down all my plugins and start fresh. Probably with Firefox, but maybe not. The search default to Yahoo annoys me bigtime.
What's going on in browser world these days? I'm actually considering Safari (yes, I'm an Apple user).

I will remove the AdHexa ads then. Let me know if that clears up the problems.

Yes. However, changing it to Google takes less time than writing this post.

Can you add me to that user group too?

Are the remaining ads causing you a problem?
