  • I feel Freedomier already!

i'm so glad that there are politicians there, looking out for my freedom to be a bigoted ****bag.

TL;DW: pediatrician refuses to treat infant born to a homosexual couple, after providing neonatal care for them.

Okay, his loss, find another doctor. Trust me you do not want to go down this road because it ends with "Pediatrician refuses to treat anti-vaccine couple with 'legitimate religious objections!' Oh the outrage!" Besides which there are legitimate reasons not based on bigotry to question homosexual couples raising children.

I understand that (people might think) an interview in which the baby didn't make an appearance would have less of an impact, but Christ almighty (whoops) that's annoying.

Hypothetically, perhaps. But so far the research indicates that the children of same-sex parents are doing just fine.

Lets say you live in a small town with only one doctor, what then?

The mother****er can either do his job, the whole job, including the parts he doesn't like, or he can find another job. That is how California delete with the bigoted pharmacists who said they didn't want to fill valid birth control perscriptions to "whores and adulterers" even though they would sell them to other customers who he did approve of. The piece of **** can either do his job or lose his medical license and find himself another job. THAT is how this should be dealt with an one law is all that is needed to make it so.

His profession is licensed by a state sanctioned board. Just amend the ethics and professional conduct rules so that this sort of bull**** isn't allowed and problem solved. He can either do his job, the whole job, or he can find himself another job.

Only a bigot would say such a thing.

I guess, it's kind of like legitimate rape.

Pretending anti-vax is about pediatricians denying treatment to children is ridiculously stupid.

                  The actual comparison is:

case a: pediatrician doesn't want to treat child for religious reasons, couple want child treated
case b: pediatrician wants to treat child, couple doesn't want child treated for religious reasons

Clearly denying treatment to the child based on religious reasons is wrong in both cases. There's no slippery slope to worry about here, even if slippery slope wasn't a fallacy to begin with.

Besides which there are legitimate reasons not based on bigotry to question homosexual couples raising children.
Questioning homosexuals raising children is a completely different situation than refusing to treat children of homosexuals.

What law being discussed currently do you feel would allow for this conduct, sb?
