Isn't discrimination the lack of equality? So a person who is against discrimination is for equality?

Because of the PR. I'm convinced, reading the arguments made by legal folks on the web, that the state's RFRA would not have caused discrimination to actually be legalized.
The Indiana "fix" is basically to reiterate that in writing.“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Being unequal doesn't mean you're being discriminated against (in the way we're using the term discrimination) but it does mean that if you are discriminating against a subgroup of people you are therefore not treating them equally.
Though HC can come in at this point and point out that discrimination isn't always bad in an economic sense... A company discriminates (treats unequally) based on merit as well. Bob gets a raise and Joe doesn't because Bob is the better employee.
Bad discrimination in that same scenario would be Bob and Joe being equal workers but Joe is gay and therefore is paid less because he's never able to schmooze at the local eatery with the boss since the local eatery "doesn't serve his kind here".I'm not conceited, conceit is a fault and I have no faults...

Yes, they wanted to make it 'CLEAR' in writing that they weren't being the bigots that they were being accused of.
Maybe not actually legalized but tell that to Memories Pizza. And don't say that a lot others were taking it as a green light to do the same.
I saw this on the news this morning but i'll post it because I can only laugh.
Memories Pizza may now be nothing but a memory, having “temporarily” closed its doors following backlash related to the owners’ open embrace of Indiana’s new Religious Freedom Restoration Act — a law that allows anyone to discriminate against anyone carte blanche (as long as they claim it is related to their sincerely held religious beliefs).
While Governor Mike Pence clarified that the “religious freedom” legislation would not lead to discrimination against LGBT individuals, he seems to have been fibbing a bit. Before the ink from the Governor’s signature had dried, the friendly staff at Memories had announced that they intended to do exactly what Pence said would never happen: refuse service to gay people.
“If a gay couple came in and wanted us to provide pizzas for their wedding, we would have to say no,” Crystal O’Connor of Memories said, though she claims that in denying service to LGBT individuals the pizza shop is not in any way discriminating.
“That lifestyle is something they choose. I choose to be heterosexual. They choose to be homosexual. Why should I be beat over the head to go along with something they choose?” Crystal’s father, Kevin, helpfully added.
Being gay is not a choice, but standing up to bigotry is — and many across the nation chose to stand up to these bullies. Almost immediately after the restaurant proudly announced its decision to discriminate against the gay community, its Facebook page and Yelp filled with scathing reviews and comments.
One awesome individual purchased the memoriespizza.com domain name, and decorated it with rainbows, hot guys making out, and phalluses.
Eventually, the humiliation became too much to bear for these good Christian warriors, but they were not through pretending that it was they who are being persecuted!
Kevin O’Connor told TMZ that he’s been forced to close his business because of the flood of “threatening” phone calls and social media posts.
“O’Connor wants to clear up one thing: He says he would never deny service to gay people in his restaurant,” TMZ notes. “However, due to his religious beliefs, he does not believe in gay marriage … and that’s why he wouldn’t service one.”
O’Connor says the restaurant will be closed — because of the alleged “threats” — “at least until the dust settles.” He told Fox News that he is not sure “when, or if” he will reopen.
O’Connor calls the outrage over his family’s bigotry “confusing.”It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

And you don't have to be a liberal to want equal treatment for everyone. Just because I don't thing gays should be discriminated against makes me a liberal. It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

You're an idiot who still doesn't understand the meaning of basic English words. Go back to school or the psychiatric ward please and come back less of an ill-educated fruitloop.
Incidentally, what kind of skanky *******s serve pizza at a wedding?

That isn't going to result in widespread economic, social or political hardship for anyone. In fact, many will have sympathy for LGBT people as a result.
I'm also stumped by your second statement since our fictional friend Joe here, I suppose could quit his job and do something else, but why should he have to just because he's gay? Seems like economic hardship to find a new job because he's not allowed in the restaurant the boss chooses to have lunch meetings at.I'm not conceited, conceit is a fault and I have no faults...
