It's still not worth spending cash on. Not when I can still get enjoyment out of PBEM/PitBoss games of Civ 4.

The first point is lame and/or just means you are too poor (nothing wrong with that, btw). Civ5 is a great entertainment value. Have you ceased entertainment spending entirely because you only play Civ4? If not, then your second point is invalid.

That $12 could be spent on a couple of DVDs from the bargain bin. Plus I'd need to spend at least $500 upgrading my computer (which needs doing anyway).

But there is also the time aspect: I have a limited amount of time for gaming. Time spend playing an ok game like civ 5 is time I'm not playing very good games like civ 4.

Two DVD s is four hours of entertainment. Maybe a dozen if you watch them a few times. I have 250 hours on Civ 5... And it isn't even my favorite civ

250 hours is on the low end of time investment for a single PitBoss game.

And Civ 5 has nothing even close to the awesomeness of Super Massive Enhanced Gameplay (SMEG) Mod

Strawman. You can't have it both ways. Either you spend all your time playing Civ4 or you dont. If you don't, it is possible to play both games

I do not have infinite time to play games (unfortunately ). So playing any game has an opportunity cost in that I could have used that time to play a different game. Civ 4 and other games I already own chew up my gaming time quite happily so if I were to purchase a new game then playing it would reduce the time I spend playing other games.

Now I could cut out some movie watching time and spend that money and time on civ 5 and play that instead. But so far every time I've faced the decision, I've come down on the side of spending my time and money on wonderful little gems like Manborg . (Trailer Here)

I mean, I'm not trying to tell you your business. You can do whatever you like. Just pointing out the flaws in your logic.

                      My logic is impeccable.

                      Now go watch Manborg.
