A qualified w00t. It turns out that there may be more than one para vacancy, that one she mentioned was something she overheard in passing, and I won't find out either way until maybe midsummer, when it gets announced and I can apply. Yuck.

Then I guess I won't learn for another ten and a half months. Thanks for THAT bit of sunshine.
There will probably be another instance of lowered Elok availability. My wife and I noticed that our boy behaved better while our PC was in the shop. We suspect this is because he wasn't competing with the intertubes for attention. Hence we'll be rationing our internet usage, b/c the kids have to come first. Since this will encourage me to be brief for a change, it's probably good for me too.

by the way, as you like languages and are a good writer have you considered translation? in terms of equipment you just need a computer and a word processor; payments can be handled via paypal. if you're interested i can give you some pointers."The Christian way has not been tried and found wanting, it has been found to be hard and left untried" - GK Chesterton.

Okay, just learned that my humble English degree is really all it takes to teach English in Florida. Or so it seems. My wife's family owns a house down there where we could live rent-free for a while. It sounds ideal; do I have the nerve?
(Lent starts in two days, BTW, so . . . see thread title)

No, we're hoping to have one parent stay home with the kids. Even Florida's teaching wages will allow that with our lifestyle (though saving for college could be problematic).
