And instead went for the "genies are real and are bad people" angle.

Similar to when I wanted to buy one of propane tanks they had on display in the parking lot. The guy I asked didn't know what propane, or a BBQ was.

I try not to shop at home depot anymore.
That's why I only go to Strickland Propane for my propane and propane accessories.

But you can't give dangerous stuff away for free? I could offer free hotdog samples at a grocery store, but if they are all tainted, I could be in serious trouble.

DaShi, is there a real Strickland Propane, or just the one in the cartoon?

Sava, Yes you said none of those things, I thought you were leaning towards the Barbara Eden type genie. Is that a correct assumption?

Oh, that's what he meant by hot blonde girl. Like, I've heard of I Dream of Jeannie, but it's so far before my time it never occurred to me.

In that case, does the genie call upon the concept of the unicorn to provide what would be a real unicorn, or provide a book that contains unicorns (the only kind of unicorns that do exist--fictional ones), or does the genie know what kind of unicorn the wisher wants and provide that?

did your family own a tv when you were a child?

Kind of. When you said the name, I assumed that was the actor from the show and googled it to confirm.

Aladdin wished, "Genie, I wish for your freedom." Which could have just meant Aladdin wanted to experience the freedom Genie had, which was none ... and Genie could have *pooofed* Aladdin into his own lamp-prison. Or it could have meant that Aladdin wanted to keep Genie's freedom rather than give it back to him. But the interpretation Genie went with was to grant himself his freedom. This is all you really need to know about Genies.
