What is the best way to convert everyone to your own personal -ism?

My preferred method is option 5, but that takes considerable patience. In the meantime, I'm working on a combination of 1 and 2. So the real plan is something like this:

Short-term: Brainwash children into questioning everything and being rational.

Mid-term: Use rationed debate to convince those grown-up brainwashed children to accept my philosophy.

Long-term: Found a new civilization inhabited my converts and dedicated to my personal philosophy.

Very long-term: Wait for all the idiots who didn't join me (the rest of humanity) to go extinct.

(Very very long-term, and not technically related: Conquer universe.)

Question: if you're teaching children to question everything, why won't they question your philosophy? Lord knows they'll have plenty of reason to, growing up with you blathering on about it all the time. Hey, wait, you don't have any kids! Well, that settles it; this plan of yours is just no good.

1. Develop the technology to allow humans to digitize their brains/selves (which are then uploaded to a shared virtual reality or are sleeved into cyborg bodies or whatever)
2. Tweak the upload process so that everybody's digitized brains will share your insane beliefs (you'll need to be a bit subtle about this at first, people might balk at the digitization process if they notice that all digitized people are insane; maybe have everybody's beliefs all change en masse at some future date)

Problem: Some people will not want to be digitized. If everybody's being uploaded to a shared virtual reality (whose servers are presumably fortified against humans who are still in meat suits) then these people can be ignored; if everybody's being uploaded into cyborg bodies then you'll probably have to eventually purge the humanity-hangers-on, which should be easy because they're not cyborgs.

I understand an important part of marketing is finding out what the public is looking for, then tailoring your product or pitch to meet that need. So you just need to find out what part of getting mashed together into an unstoppable robot overmind appeals to people most. You may need to use some sort of psychoactive substance for this.
