maybe, or perhaps it's the lack of winter here.

I came down with the 'flu on December 23rd. It made for a very slim Christmas- no face stuffing for me. One of my New Year's resolutions is to eat more, now that I can taste and smell again.

Also I agree with Imran- 'flu is one of those ghastly things that affects so many different parts of the body at the same time- ear, nose and throat, joints, muscles, chest- and have all those people making light of 'flu forgotten the Spanish Influenza epidemic ?

      Apparently so....

NO BODY expects the Spanish Influenza!

Really? The symptoms you describe mean that I must have never had the flu in my life - in which case I clearly don't need a flu jab...

I've had some pretty ****ty colds, actually had a pesky one over Christmas myself, though nothing that would prevent me from dragging my ass to work. BUT, I do know better than to infect everyone else, so when I come down with something like that, I'm more than happy to pull a sicky...

Are you a doctor (of medicine)?

            An epidemiologist ?

            A virologist ?

            If not, STFU.

That kind of grossly underestimates the overall likelihood of getting the flu. If you've never gotten the flu, and you live in a place where the flu is a thing (which Wales is), then you're probably just lucky.

No, Wales is most definitely a land that gets its fair share of flu...

What I'm saying is that of course I've had flu and sometimes I've felt pretty ****ty, but I look after myself and if the symptoms I get is all flu's got then clearly I don' need no steenkeeng flu jabs...

Come on guys, hardly anyone here is in their sixties - most of you shouldn't even need a flu jab!

There are side effects, you know:

You may experience soreness and/or swelling in your arm at the injection site after getting a flu jab. Some people have cold-like symptoms, including a mild fever, sniffles, headache, runny nose, sore throat, cough and muscle aches for a day or two after getting the flu jab.
Not to mention Anaphylaxis in very rare cases - and that is ****ing serious!

Seriously, why go to the trouble of abusing medicine if you don't need it...

                      Here's the story:

Between the time the flu vaccine was manufactured and now, one of the flu strains mutated. So that particular strain is not being covered very well by the flu vaccine. The other strains are covered just fine.

                      Get your flu vaccine.

I was already in the clinic for my shoulder, the nurse says "oh we're offering flu shots for $5." It was not even out of my way. Considering that it protects me as well as the people around me, not getting it would make me (more of) an *******.

MOBIUS should come up with less pathetic trolls.

Incidentally, Kuci got the flu this week. He didn't get his flu shot.

edit: my bad, actually I was in for my leg, not my shoulder. I had a bunch of crap wrong with me in the fall and it blurs together a little.

No, not getting the vaccine would encourage the spread of the disease, possibly to small children, which would keep Guy in a job. I don't believe the state of Ohio has yet been reduced to conscripting pediatricians to churn out vaccine. Or is "job" Welsh slang for "good temper"?

Wait... how many times do you have to go the ****ing clinic? Do you injure yourself often?
