At no point anywhere in the official NHS website does it state that all people should be vaccinated against flu:

People who should have a flu jab

The injected flu vaccine is offered free of charge on the NHS to people who are at risk to ensure that they are protected against catching flu and developing serious complications.
You are eligible to receive a free flu jab if you:

• are 65 years of age or over
• are pregnant
• have certain medical conditions (see below)
• are living in a long-stay residential care home or other long-stay care facility
• receive a carer's allowance, or you are the main carer for an elderly or disabled person whose welfare may be at risk if you fall ill
• are a healthcare worker with direct patient contact or a social care worker (see below)

How the flu jab helps

Studies have shown that the flu jab does work and will help prevent you getting the flu. It won't stop all flu viruses and the level of protection may vary between people, so it's not a 100% guarantee that you'll be flu-free, but if you do get flu after vaccination it's likely to be milder and shorter-lived than it would otherwise have been.

I used to ignore them when I was younger but now that I'm past that 60th birthday I spend more time at the doctor's office and every time I'm there I get bombarded by nurses asking me if I want one since it's free. Eventually I say sure just to shut them up. This years shot left my arm quite sore for almost 4 days. Much worse than last years. If they're singing the same mantra predicting the wrong strains again next year, I think I'll pass.

The flu is really, really, really ****ing horrible. I'm totally fine with reg getting the flu shot - I think everyone should get one. Being macho about not getting one is just stupid.

i used to get one when i lived in the UK. i don't bother here; it doesn't seem to be a big problem in brazil.
