Isn't it just possible that Sony staged this whole thing so that they could collect insurance to cover their losses on a movie that was destined to tank?

                A uniquely American cowardly failure.

Sony hacked themselves, released those emails showing execs saying racist things about Obama, created a hysteria which culminated in the complete canceling of their movie, DVD release and all, and made themselves look like cowards buckling to terrorists, sent the message that all future Hollywood productions shall be subject to terrorist veto power... all for the ability to break even on a $44 million movie?

If this is actually a serious question, then perhaps Sony could better profit off you by getting into the tinfoil business.

The movie division is essentially American.

Yeah, your average American is an ignorant coward when push comes to shove - hence why they all need to feel safe owning guns at home despite the fact that it makes their lives more dangerous...

I think the best example is all the braindead morons who decided drive instead of fly after 9/11 - to the extent that the road deaths subsequently spiked to a higher number than all the victims of the terrorist attacks in the first place!

For sure, one thing more irritating than a post of yours would be forced cheerfulness.
