Along with Alan Sherman, Bob Newhart, and the musical comedy of Tom Lehrer,

Tom Lehrer and Alan Sherman are fantastic. I remember listening to Alan Sherman and Tom Lehrer records (yes, phonograph records) my dad would play when I was a kid. Tom Lehrer in particular is a ****ing genius.

By the way, most of the reason I like Jay Leno is because I watched the tonight show with my dad as a kid. I liked the jokes but I think a lot of it is that I liked watching it with my dad. You can make whatever snarks you like about it, and I realize his humor is not exactly groundbreaking or brilliant, but that doesn't change the fact that I had a good time watching his show.

Most here don't remember Jay Leno as an up-and-coming stand-up in the 70s. He has huge respect within the comic community as a consummate pro and truly funny guy.

The Tonight Show softened him, forced him to play to the masses. Different game.

My brother and I used to listen to Wonderfulness over and over when we were kids. Again as kids, we quite liked Fat Albert. The Cosby Show was pretty lame though.
