They could use Bill Cosby as The Man from Creepy Uncle.

The villainous organization in Man from UNCLE was THRUSH, I don't recall ever hearing what THRUSH stood for.
I didn't remember but I knew it was silly so I had to look it up.

Technological Hierarchy for the Removal of Undesirables and the Subjugation of Humanity

I'd be embarrassed to have to explain that to someone if I was a member.

I must admit, I watched The Avengers more.
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

I think my favorite Yvonne Craig was as Batgirl, though she was also the green woman on Star Trek

Barbara Eden as Jeannie. I know, it doesn't fit the genre, but who cares?

I'm not sure How I feel about this one.

When we were kids, it was one of my favorite shows.
It was one of the first SPY shows on TV so it was fresh and interesting.
Now that SPY movies and shows are all over the place I'm wondering how this will play out to a younger audience.
Now it's more common and not the new shiny thing it was back then.

Do any of you younger pups even know about this show. (i'm sure it's been shown more recently on cable)
I always found it enjoyable- even had Napoleon Solo and Ilya Kuryakin handkerchiefs and a Man From U.N.C.L.E. radio that transformed into a rifle and the cigarette case that became a walkie talkie.

                          Happy days...

The series had a slightly camp/knowing side to it that reminds me at times of 'The Addams Family'.

In the original Bond novels James was often poised against Warsaw Pact spies, but early 1960's England was pro-Labor so the movie makers decided to change the name of Bond's nemesis organization. Even in From Russia With Love the bad guys were SPECTRE agents posing as Russian SMERSH agents. SMERSH stands for a Russian phrase which means "death to spies". In a few of the later movies Roger Moore and Timothy Dalton faced Russians.
