I see it for purchase on various "on demand" services. It is a renter. Any idea when it is available to rent? I haven't seen it yet. Looks... decent?
To us, it is the BEAST.

Just watched it last night. Very well done. Worth the watch!

It seems to be out of DVD so I'll have a look for it next time I'm out shopping for toys.

Saw it a couple weeks ago. I would recommend that others see it, but I was ultimately disappointed by it. Too much that just doesn't quite hang together. But it was much better than my brother thought it was, who hated it so much he started foaming at the mouth while talking about it and may have threatened to sue Nolan, McConaughey, Thorne, et al. for the price of the ticket.

It was a great movie, one of the best from 2014. The science is good, my head spun, a lot, I loved the slow pacing. All in all a sure winner.

I made the mistake of watching it with my kids, and had to explain absolutely everything.

The BH was great ... of course.

On the other hand there were lots of inconsistencies IHO ...
for example with regards to time dilation ...
                  Spoiler:

for example the mothership (I guess) is supposed to have orbited the water planet ..meaning that it was supposed to be nearer to the BH than the planet in half of the time ...
so, it is rather unbelievable that the time difference between ship and planet would be 23 years.
If, on the other hand, we assume that the mothership orbited gargantua itself (instead of the planet), then the mothership might have been extremly far away due to the different orbital periods (perhaps even on the other side of gargantua) ... probably too far away for the landing shuttle to rwach it.

And how did the remaining Astronaut spend the 23 years on the ship? In Cryosleep 100% of the time? Because if not, the food supplies wouldn´t have been sufficient for him. And for a ship which spent 23 years in orbit (with its machines/electronics running) the mothership still looked brand new ... and with none of the system failures one would expect with so old systems.

To mention just 2 glaringly obvious inconsistenies.

While Gargantua alone makes Interstellar definitely worth watching and the planets themselves are nicely done (as well as the space staiton and space ship), I for my part found it rather meh with regards to the story (and due to certain inconsistencies)

I think this might be why it was an entertaining movie, rather than a PhD thesis in Astrophysics.

                      Spoiler:
Actually the 2 points I mentioned didn´t drive the story any further and could have been left out.
Thy could just have let mothership and shuttle be subjected to the same time dilation (due to the spaceship orbiting the planet) and could have just mentioned that the time that passed on earth have been 23 years.
If they needed a reason whey they knew about the time that passed on earth, they could just have introduced planting a Nav Bouy near the wormhole (which would be least affected by the gravity of Gargantua) and which would periodically transmit time informations (and would contain a long living nuclear power source).
Et voila ... 2 inconsistencies avoided without hurting the storyline

I don´t think the points I mentioned gave anything important in the storyline away ... but I´ll put it into spoiler tags
