In Which Poly's Religious Contingent Gives Lori a Big Fat
As far as I'm concerned this is equivalent to asking why a gambler should look to statistics to explain winning streaks.
It may be a different thing. If a person has faith in God because he wants to have a relationship with God, that's different than just wanting a miracle to happen. If it's the former he will have faith and therefore pray. If it's the latter he will pray just for a miracle. Someone who believes in luck is similar to the latter but not the former.
You're looking for a reason to have faith in God. It's to have a relationship with him. It's the only way.

They would all cringe reading your sentences. I know, I do. At least this paragraph doesn't suffer from the drastic tonal shifts that most of your writing does. However, it's clear that you have no idea what you are talking about and simply reacting to the subject matter. Your appeal to authority takes the cake. How about from now on, I compare everything you write to those authors?
You've been on here since 2000; you have to be at least fairly close to my age, if not older. And yet you tell me that you act this way to everyone, not just me. I.e., you have yet to figure out how to act like a healthy, social human being on the internet, to the point where you launch into a lecture in response to an inconsequential barb delivered between known friends. I guess what I'm saying is, "I piss on your irrational, grossly disproportionate, and mean-spirited hostility." Now shut up.
“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Boohoo! "Look at me! I'm going to post a lame critique of something because I'm upset about what it said. I'm not going to make any substantial points. In fact, I'm just going to poorly write several sentenced that sum up to the equivalent of saying 'This sucks!' with just as much thought and credibility as the 8-year-old who would say the same thing. Then I'm going to pretend that load of garbage was actually just a friendly barb and not just a collection of stupid thoughts when someone calls me on it."
How that for some ****ing Shakespeare?
I thought you said you could handle it. Sorry you're not the authority you think you are.
