And yes, I am not an unbiased person on this. My mother died of it in 2003. We are having a service for a very good friend of mine on Sunday. He also died of ALS.

My dad died of it last year. It's surprisingly common for such a rare disease.

Thanks. Awareness probably will make some lives better. The experiences of those I know tell me it can be difficult to get a proper diagnosis and apparently a lot can be done to prolong quality of life if detected early.
