  • Does honesty require self-awareness? I don't think so. Competent? Don't you know that henceforth Microsoft is eliminating odd numbered versions and therefore all further versions will be "the good ones"? The programs will written be scientists. Science is facts, facts are by definition not prejudice, therefore the programming will be prejudice free. The AI that governs us in the future will be so massive, so advanced that it will be able to out-think mere humans. It might hack us, but not the other way around.

Imagine the brave new world where all crimes will be solved and punished swiftly. Mankind will rest safely in the embrace of cybernetic angels. It will be like heaven.

                  • For instance prison, rehabilitation, psychotherapy and psychopharmacology have been shown to be very ineffective at reducing criminal recidivism. A robotic government will adapt a more efficient means of treating criminals.

                    • rehabilitation works well, but of course the root causes (lack of education/skills, addiction etc.) need to be tackled as part of such a programme.

                          • Apotheosis is simple - a model of your consciousness is constructed, then uploaded to "the cloud", a sort of virtual heaven, where you'll never feel pain or sorrow and won't be able to hurt anyone.
