I've been watching these guys in show business and many of them have something that doesn't fit the norm. Either a parent abandoned them or they come from somewhere else, there's a piece of a puzzle that just won't stick to the overall puzzle and then they use showbiz (or literature, or art or whatever) to try and chase the deamon of non conformity.
That doesn't mean they espouse conformity, they could even be repulsed by it, but it is this "lack of something" that has ignited their flame for exposure and/or creativity and it can't be quelled.
So the fuel for any extra-ordinary feat is a trauma of non conformity (as they see it).
It's like what an ector said "everything is going well in my life right now and I don't like it. Bliss leads to passivity and inactivity and I want to make something not right so as to motivate me again to do things".
Of course the bimbo that took the interview didn't understand any of that, but I think there lies the creative flame of those people.
And as someone said" don't let that which is eating you, get full"
