  • Feels like a Monsoon Here, How About a Question

So I'm watching our DirecTV and the HD reception cuts out and I switch to the local channels coming in thru the same system and I get reception. Now I knew this ever since we got Hi-Def but why does that happen? I even get reception on the non HD channels that aint local.

I think you just answered your own question. HD requires more data, so there's less margin. The non-HD channels are more robust with respect to noise.
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

Um, analog deals with data loss much much better than digital, especially HD digital that is a massive BW hog.
