Absolute piece of junk - 1974 Ford Cortina Mark III 3.3 litre - but went like the clappers. Same burnt orange colour

Any views I may express here are personal and certainly do not in any way reflect the views of my employer. Tis the rising of the moon..

Look, I just don't anymore, okay?

            '72 Gran Torino and my 2nd was a '66 Chevelle with a '68 Olds 350 Rocket engine

            I blew them both up

The tranny on the Torino and blew a hole in a piston on the Olds, even tore the heads off to see what I did

That's not unusual. Neither did I.

                  A 1965 Rambler Classic.

The one in the video is an earlier model, but you get the idea.

How did you get around? Just about everyone I knew wanted and got a car as soon as they could (basically at age 16) because other wise you're pretty much stuck with our horrible bus system or begging friends/family for a ride. A bike would work for short trips but not well for trips over 5 miles.

Some states have decent transportation networks. Whole regions, even. then there's bicycles.

I was northern NJ, I think Imran was central NJ.

When I went to the counterglow meet, I took a NJT train from Far Rockaway (or was it Denville?) into Penn Station. Took two hours and $10 each way, which I think would have beaten a car, especially with no gas or parking fees. Also, I got to nap!
