    /me thread

Let me preface by saying my "rock bottom" is relatively mild. There are real people out there suffering from addiction issues, and my little fun with self-medication does not even compare to those struggles.

So I had a bit of an incident recently. The full story is in Imran's (early) birthday thread.

TLDR version: I made an extract () and accidentally "over dosed" myself without appreciating how concentrated it was. Then I stopped caffeine and cold turkey which lead to mild withdrawal symptoms.

In the past few days, I've weened myself off... taking single "maintenance" hits spaced out at increasing longer intervals each day. Today, I have not smoked and don't plan to.

I walked to my gym (about 1-1.5 mile round trip) and did some light upper-body strength training. Total workout time: 1:45... 1100 calories burned... according to my heart rate monitor thingy.

If my lazy dumb ass can do it, anyone can (assuming you are physically healthy enough).

I'm going to use this thread to track my progress (so if I'm constantly bumping this, that's why... disregard if there's no actual discussion). Right now, I'm in the low 240's... recently down from high 250's thanks to my little "incident".

I've dramatically increased my intake in fruits and vegetables. Tomorrow, my poop will likely smell of berries.

Say what you want about , but this is the second time in my life that a several month-long binge has resulted in a switch flipping in my brain WRT healthy living. A side effect of on me was a loss of appetite in the early part of the day... and a generally lower desire to eat. Though when I did eat, it tasted realllllllly good.

If anyone else wants to use this thread for motivation or to share progress, I would welcome it.

Aside from expressing my personal feeling of accomplishment, I hope my actions can inspire others around here who struggle with such things; whether it be motivation, strategic brainstorming, or just "hey look at me, I feel great".

Also, I think I'm almost ready to start dating again after a little over 6 months since my last breakup.

One last thing... I'm going to strive to be less of a dick (troLOLOL). But that doesn't mean I'm not going to call stupid comments out for being stupid.

That's it for now. Move along. Move along.

"Sometimes you have to hit rock bottom" should have been the tagline for The Core.

You do realize that my birthday thread was LATE, not early, right? Damn you, sober Sava!

              My new philosophy on meals:

Nothing larger than a "handful" size portion every two to four hours.

I just threw together a simple soup.

3/4 cup chicken broth or stock (low sodium)
4-6oz of cooked chicken sliced small
1 cup frozen mixed veggies (or fresh if you have them)
              a little garlic, onion

              topped with crushed crackers

              Heat over medium, stirring occasionally

              optional: I used an emulsifier

You may want to add salt to taste.
              Took me ten minutes

Confession time for me as well:

I've only smoked four times in the past month and a half. Which as Sava knows, is basically not smoking at all.

Quitting (or if you want to be a dick, cutting back) pot has given me more energy than I honestly know what to do with. So in that time I've been hitting the gym and the pool at least five times a week. I've gone from 225 to 215 (just on the cusp of being overweight instead of obese).

I have no plans of being any less of a dick. People who are wrong on the internet have to be corrected, or else the world will come to an end.

                Other than that Sava.

Sava pulled a "Dowd" before pulling a "Dowd" existed. What a trend setter

I mustered the courage and went to work. I asked for as much work as possible and i plunged in it. Then i walked nine km under the sun. It. Was hot but not insufferable. Then i went to a nearby stadium and askked for opening ours but they werent accomodating. So i went to a nearby gym and paid full year. I told them i want to reduce stress and just be active. They inscribed me to tae bo classes and i.ll do a muscle mass test or something and theyll get a program for me. They also have a sauna. The plan is to get there run a lot on those running platforms and then get to the sauna. I dont want to see the so though i called her and im not returning to my place untill i feel better. No drink yesterday or today the pain in the left upper side of the stomach is slowly going away. Nothing is solved but oh well. Also its holy spirit monday so its a three day weekend. I just plan to get there without drinking

                            My philosophy on meals:

I get enough exercise that I can eat upwards of 2500 calories a day, probably more like 3000 cause I've never closely kept track, and maintain a weight of 135 pounds. I have not deviated from this weight in three years. So I eat whatever I want.

As it happens, what I want to eat includes a lot of leafy vegetables
